Duration: 3h30

The Fronteira Palace was built as the Mascarenhas family county house and hunting lodge in the 17th century. It has quickly become one of the most remarkable residences of the court nobility of the 17th and 18th centuries, when the Count D. João de Mascarenhas received the title of Marquis of Fronteira for his contributions on the Restauration War and for his unconditional support of the Bragança house as the new Royal House. This palace stands out for several reasons. Since it was built until now, the palace has been a house of artistic promotion. The house has one of the most interesting collections of tiles from the 17th and 18th centuries as well as the beautiful ceilings and the decorative arts collection that remains in this house.
